Humayun Kabir, Senior Staff Reporter:To further strengthen the bond of mutual friendship, unity and welfare among journalists(18th December 2025) Thursday, at Hijal Tamal Resort, Gazipur.A joyful banquet and gathering was organized by the Journalist Protection and Welfare Foundation. About 400 journalists from different parts of the country participated in this festive event.Present at the event were Khan Selim Rahman, editor of the national daily Matrijogat and founding president of Bangladesh Central Press Club (BCP), President Arangzeb Kamal, Mohammad Farid Khan (Bangladesh Press Club, Mogul), Samrat (Publisher and Editor, BD Live 24 News), Kamruzzaman Joni (Publisher and Editor), Subir Ahmed (Publisher and Editor, Weekly Newspaper), Mohammad Bashir Ahmed (Assistant Editor, Crime News) and Md. Masud Mridha (Staff Reporter, Rajdhani Television).
The event was presided over by the organization's founding chairman Md. Delwar Hossain. Their presence made the event more lively and significant.
Another attraction of the event was the prize distribution ceremony. Prizes were distributed among the winners of sports and competitions, which added enthusiasm and joy to all present. There was also a cultural program, where songs, recitations and charming performances took the gathering to a different level.
The organizers said that despite the professional pressure and busyness of journalists, such gatherings strengthen mutual relations and provide motivation to work together for the protection and welfare of journalists in the future. At the end of the day, the participants expressed the hope that such events will continue regularly, with memories of joy, laughter and camaraderie.
